Long Live the King – Twice

We are excited to announce Royal Compressor XT, the extended version of our beloved vintage vari-mu compressor by Soundevice Digital.

For years, Royal Compressor has brought the warm sound of a classic British valve compressor from the Beatles era to countless vocals, drum buses and mix buses. Now it is time for a new era. Royal Compressor XT keeps exactly the same vintage tone, but gives you two complete compressors in one plugin and lets you decide which part of the signal each of them touches.

Two Compressors, One Rack

Each XT unit is a full Royal Compressor with its own controls, so the two halves of your signal can be treated in completely different ways.

• Same Royal Sound: Three models (A, B, C) from the cleanest to the most colourful, adjustable valve saturation and stepped recovery with HOLD positions.
• Modes 1 and 2: Work just like the original Royal Compressor you already know.
• Presets for Every Unit: P1 and P2 preset browsers, plus global presets. Load a setting from one unit into the other in seconds.

Split It Your Way

L/R: Compress the left and right channels separately. Perfect for double-tracked guitars, overheads or stereo recordings where one side is busier than the other.

M/S: Hold the vocal, kick and bass steady in the centre while the sides keep their space and ambience.

Low/High: A two-band vari-mu compressor with an adjustable crossover. Tame a boomy low end without dulling the top.

Power and Solo: Switch off either unit to compress only the sides or only the lows, and solo each unit to hear exactly what you are doing.
