Sonikem
Bio
Based between Paris, Asia, and Africa, Sonikem crafts sonic worlds designed for visuals, dance, and live performance. Each beat is conceived as a rhythmic narrative, tailored to serve an artist, a project, or a specific mood. He fully produces his own albums, engages in international collaborations (Japan, Korea, West Africa), and composes for rappers, content creators, choreographers, and brands alike.
In parallel, he explores his lyrical universe under the name Sonikem The Genius, a rap alter ego known for introspective writing, poetic vision, and a sharp, controlled flow laid over his own instrumentals.
He is also the founder of BLENDER MAGAZINE, both an online media platform and print publication that doubles as a creative lab and promoter of independent music production. Sonikem represents a generation of sonic artisans who champion independence, quality, and a bold artistic vision.
Quotes
QuickVox
QuickVox is the plugin I didn’t know I needed. The sound is clean, the tools are versatile, and in the end, it feels like having two plugins in one! A full studio-grade vocal processor and a powerful live performance version. The Live Mode is efficient and ready for the stage. It’s become an essential part of both my studio sessions and my live sets.
WideFire
Sometimes, the simpler, the better. When I want to widen the stereo image of a mono source or enhance the width of an existing signal, WideFire is the first plugin I load. It expands the field naturally without compromising mono compatibility, and that’s rare. It’s become a go-to reflex in my chain whenever I need space.
Autoformer
Autoformer is always the first plugin in my vocal chain. Its analogue-style preamp adds a subtle, warm saturation; the auto-gain instantly balances levels without crushing dynamics; and the gentle compressor smooths out transients while preserving the natural tone of the voice. It’s a transparent yet powerful tool, the kind you don’t realise you need until it becomes second nature. Since I started using it, it hasn’t left a single one of my vocal chains.
